HERNAN CRESPO
A formidable competitor, Hernan Crespo has won every title possible in South America: the Liga Argentina, the Liga Pan-Americana, and the Copa Libertadores.

Crespo was only 13 years old when he made his debut with River Plate, the club of his life, in 1988.

He played his first match in the First Division in 1993, and just one year later, was proclaimed Champion of the Campeonato Apertura and best scorer of the Campeonato de Clausura. That same year he rejected an offer from Juventus, as he preferred to stay in his home country to perfect his performance and win titles before his Italian adventure.

Since that moment everything has been a success for “Valdanito”, nicknamed for his physical similarities with Jorge Valdano. With his place in Parma assured, he won the silver medal in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games and was the goal-scorer of the competition.

By 2005 Hernan had moved to Europe to play for the 2005 premiership Champions, Chelsea. The following year Crespo was part of the Chelsea team that won the 2006 FA Community Shield and FA Pemier Leagaue Championship title. Here he was completely at home in the penalty area and proved himself on more than one occasion with spectacular mid-field efforts.

In August of that year Crespo signed for Inter Milan on a two-year loan from Chelsea. Today Crespo remains a member of the Inter Milan squad that has won the Serie A championship with five games to spare and continues to make his mark as the only player who has managed to score for five different teams in the UEFA Champions League.
