Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova began playing tennis at home in Russia at the age of 6. Given that both her mother and father have tennis backgrounds, it was not surprising that she soon displayed a natural flair for the sport. By 2006 she had claimed both the Australian Open and US Open Junior Singles titles, as well as the Junior Doubles titles at Melbourne Park, Roland Garros and Wimbledon.

In 2007 she continued to jump from strength to strength again claiming the Australian Open Junior Singles and Doubles titles, the Wimbledon Junior Doubles title as well as reaching the semi-finals at Roland Garros. She is currently the second ranked ITF junior in the world.

Coached by her brother Aleksandr, Anastasia has taken her great success as a junior onto the women's tour and is now fast moving up the WTA Tour rankings for both doubles and singles. In 2007 she has moved up an impressive 200 spots on the WTA Tour rankings and is definitely a player to watch for the future.
